It was a joint pilot program of Media Markt, Moscow Transportation Department and Moscow Subway. The customers could order TV-sets, smartphones, multicoockers and even fridges without leaving the subway.In 2015 Media Markt was the first chain of consumer electronics to introduce Electronic Shelf Labels in a large scale in Russia. The implementation of technology allows to update the information on the price and characteristics of the product in automatic mode without t involving the staff. Now Media Markt can always communicate the correct prices to its customers and, therefore, to maintain a high level of service in each of the stores. The network has focused on the introduction of not only ESLs but also on effective set of solutions developed by the German company xplace GmbH, such as software for laptops (NoTeS), tablets (TaCT) and smartphones (SmarTS), TVL - HD for TV, which make it possible to turn the devices themselves into digital price labels.
MEDIA MARKT RUSSIA
In 2013 Media Markt launched yet another outstanding campaign called "Carry off in 50 seconds” in line with the forthcoming celebrations for the opening of the 50th store in Russia. Similar activities have already been run in Media Markt stores in Spain and Poland and Saturn stores in Germany. But this time there was not only one national finalist selected, but 22, one from every city where Media Markt is present. The total time for the foray exceeded 18 minutes and the total sum of money – 9 million rubles (approximately 192.000 Euro).
In 2015 Media Markt has run national “Win Your Purchase Back” promotion, where all customers with loyalty card could win purchase back. Mechanics worked both offline and online. Promotion created a lot of buzz and traffic to the stores and helped to involve a lot of customers into Media Markt loyalty program. More than 25 000 customers returned their purchases back and the total amount of returns exceeded 50 million roubles.From 2013 - 2015 Media Markt Russia conducted advertising campaign with HP Baxxter, frontman of Scooter band. Campaign was awarded as “Best Campaign of 2013” on sostav.ru and also got few additional awards in 2014 and 2015. This campaign helped to strengthen Media Markt brand awareness and also drive traffic to the stores. Also Media Markt was integrated in all concerts of Scooter in Russia and PR activities (e.g. HP Baxxter was invited guest to top-rating Urgant show on 1st channel in 2013).In November 2014 Media Markt opened its largest and flagship store in Russia, in Avia Park shopping mall in Moscow. Store space is exceeding 8 000 sq.m., it carries more than 40 000 different products in electronics and unique presentations from Media Markt vendors, including the biggest brand zone from Apple. Store opening was a big event and attracted thousands of customers. In summer 2015 there was a signature session with Til Lindemann, ex-frontman of Rammstein. This event attracted more than 10 000 people to the store from all regions of Russia.
