Ingolstadt, June 22, 2008: Last Thursday the German national football team came out victorious scoring a splendid 3:2 against the favored team from Portugal. To celebrate this victory, Media Markt Germany launches the next highlight of its UEFA Euro 2008 campaign: on June 23 and 24, the consumer electronics center will grant a one-quarter discount on the prices of all products with a value starting from € 200 on stock and sold on these days.
In the company’s new campaign, Olli Dittrich acts the role of the football-enthusiastic Italian ‘Toni’ under the motto “The EUROcommendation of the Year” and advertises for the latest offers on the occasion of the UEFA European Championship. Full of joy about the victory of the German team in the quarter finals, the consumer electronics center will offer its customers this exceptional bargain campaign on next Monday and Tuesday. What would ‘Toni’ say to this? Probably something like: “Even though this time it is not about a quarter finals win of ‘Bella Italia’, I am always ‘molto entusiasmato’ when I have to pay one quarter less“.
Advertising for the campaign will start on Sunday, 22 June 2008, on the Internet. On the following Monday, full-page newspaper ads will draw attention to the offer nationwide. The campaign will be accompanied by a radio spot that will be broadcast across Germany from Monday morning until Tuesday noon.
The discount granted on the occasion of Germany’s victory in the quarter finals is already the second highlight offered by Media Markt Germany in the framework of the Euro 2008. All customers who have bought a product with a value from € 500 during the first week of June 2008 are already feverishly awaiting the 'Media Markt Euro 2008 Dream Finals' because for each goal scored by the German national team in the finals of the UEFA Euro 2008 they will be reimbursed € 100 of the costs for their purchase. This does not include goals scored in the penalties after the overtime. The reimbursement will be made only once for each purchased item and must be claimed latest by 31 July 2008.
