Philipp Haas
Philipp Haas has been Head International Sales Project Management Media Markt since April 2008. In his spare time, he is interested in anything to do with sports and is a fan of console games. His motto is “Give a smile and you get a smile!”

What made you choose Media-Saturn-Holding as your employer?
After completing my advanced certificate of secondary education, I wanted to combine theory and practice in a dual program of studies. At the Media-Saturn Group, I had the opportunity to complete a study course that could offer me both. During this time, in which I worked in different stores and various administrative departments, I also had the chance to receive vocational training in business administration, and of course I took it.

What makes a dual program of study so attractive to you?
The high level of practical relevance means that I am better prepared for the company and the working world, which ultimately also benefits the company.

What do you particularly like about the Media-Saturn Group?
The broad-mindedness and high level of professionalism reflected in the way we deal with each other every day in an open and friendly manner.

What personal traits should anyone wanting a career at Media-Saturn have?
The willingness to take the initiative. To know what you want and to persevere until you get it. You should ask for the things important to you. You should also have a healthy measure of self-confidence and an open manner.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?
I see myself in a position in which I continue to drive happily to work every morning.

What support were you given on your way to achieving your career goals?
At the beginning, my colleagues provided me with a tremendous amount of support. On my way to becoming Head International Sales Project Management Media Markt, my superiors not only demanded a lot of me but also provided me with a lot of support.

Which of your projects did you enjoy the most?
Our launch in Sweden and Turkey. Both preparing our expansion into these countries and the opening of the stores in Göteborg and Mersin, which was ultimately the crowning moment of the previous months of hard work.

What was the greatest challenge you have faced up until now?
When expanding into new countries, adapting to a new culture is a big challenge. Working together with the people in Sweden was, for example, completely different to working together with the people in Turkey.

If you were able to choose one of the products available at Media Markt or Saturn, what would it be?
I would choose a Philips Aurea, which I would have delivered and installed.

What technical device drives you crazy?
Washing machines.
