What made you choose Media-Saturn?
I completed a dual program of study in cooperation with Media-Saturn at the University of Cooperative Education Heidenheim. After I finished school, it provided me with the ideal combination: business and information technology. In this day and age, business and IT have become increasingly intertwined, and I would have found a course in just information technology too abstract and too technology oriented. And I chose a dual program of study because I didn’t want to just acquire theoretical knowledge, I wanted to put theory into practice and dig a little deeper. And the reason I chose Media-Saturn is simple: it’s a successful international company that also happens to sell the products that I spend most of my money on anyway.
Why do you like working for Media-Saturn?
Media-Saturn offers its employees so many opportunities. I think that I’m a good example of this. After my three-year degree course, I started working in the System Management Solutions department and was given challenging tasks to perform from the very start. For example, I was given the task of creating an entire test environment for our new enterprise resource planning system - with everything that this involves: planning, installation, support and, in part, even the later rollout of the system. Today a number of different teams with several members are involved in this area, which has grown greatly since. I was allowed to assume responsibility very quickly. First of all, I took over the technical supervision of one team and now I’m responsible for 15 people.
What do you think everyone should know about Media-Saturn?
At Media-Saturn, employees are expected to come up with their own ideas and put them into practice. Creativity and the willingness to follow new and innovative paths is part of the job profile here. It’s not something that is “nice to have”, it’s a “must”. Our motto is that if we want everything to stay the way it is, we have to always be prepared to change everything!
What electronic device drives you crazy?
My computer - that mind sound funny coming from a computer expert, but when something drives you crazy, you usually develop a certain determination to solve the problem, whatever it is, as a result.
