What made you choose Media-Saturn?
That’s a long story. After completing my degree, I started working in the Marketing department at Media-Saturn. At that time they were looking for an account executive for the Iberian Peninsula and because I’m half Portuguese and had studied for a year in Ecuador, it was perfect. After a year, I went to Spain where I was responsible for the service department in a Media Markt store. From there I moved to our Spanish subsidiary where I was in charge of various things such as logistics and our gift card. I then had the opportunity to take up an exciting, and at the same time international, position as a manager in the New Business department. As you can see from my career, Media-Saturn offers a multitude of opportunities for further development - all you have to do is take advantage of them.
Why do you like working for Media-Saturn?
Especially in economically difficult times, it’s good to know that you’re working for an international company like this one, which stands for continual and solid growth. In the past few years, Media-Saturn has continued to grow and has become a large company under its own steam. Knowing that gives you a good feeling and provides security. In addition, I’m constantly amazed at the amount of freedom we’re given in our work. Of course that also often goes hand in hand with a tremendous amount of responsibility - but that is what’s so great.
What do you think everyone should know about Media-Saturn?
I personally think that the most important thing is that you work for a while in one of our stores. Regardless of which position you hold in the group, one thing is clear: our stores are where business is done, they are our foundation. Only if you understand what happens every day in our stores can you come up with solutions and develop new services that not only help our colleagues but also, above all, our customers. University graduates in particular shouldn’t be shy about working in one of the stores. Just roll up your sleeves and get to work.
What electronic device drives you crazy?
It’s the software that gets on my nerves more than the devices themselves, especially when it tries to do the thinking for me.
