Your training as an information technology assistant includes instructions in basic business principles. You will also be provided with an overview of the various departments and the IT-related tasks performed. 

The vocational training program for information technology assistants places emphasis on the following: 
• Learning and applying programming techniques 
• Designing and implementing software solutions 
• Creating and maintaining databases 
• Installing network products 
• Preparing and executing projects 
• Establishing and maintaining market and customer relationships 
• Controlling and monitoring business processes 

What you should bring with you: 
• Personal initiative and the willingness to assume responsibility 
• An interest in computer technologies and technical matters 
• Team spirit, a sense of fairness and a respect for other people 
• An open mind and flexibility 
• Good communication skills and the ability to be part of a team 
• A good school leaving certificate or general qualification for university entrance 

In three years, Media-Saturn will train you to be an information technology assistant. Depending on your individual abilities and prior knowledge, you may be able to shorten your vocational training program.

And once you have finished? Once you have completed your vocational training, you can work at what is regarded as the interface between business requirements and IT/technical solutions. You can work in system administration at the computer center or involve yourself in software development.
